After a fateful meeting between Roland and Susan Delgado, the Gunslingers finally arrive in the village of Hambry. Disguised as counters for the Affiliation, they are welcomed into the town by the Mayor. But all is not well in Hambry. The Big Coffin Hunters, allies of John Farson, serve the Sherriff of this town. And the Petrol fields outside, still running after hundreds of years, are churning up oil that Farson will use in his attack on Gilead.
